    I agree...although I nursed all 3 of my children, I don't think a mother should be made to feel shamed by not breastfeeding. It is certainly a personal and individual decision. Yes, there are proven health benefits and protections to breastfeeding, but formula is a good second choice.     You are right, however I would definitely not deprive my child of breastfeeding!

    The first days of breastfeeding are really stressful with latching issues, colostrum production etc.. as mommy and baby learn how to do it right. Just one more challenge to overcome with a newborn! But once things fall into place it is a magnificent experience.
