My sister and I were both out of diapers before our first birthdays and used a potty before we could walk. Billy is 16 months old and is well on his way to using a potty full time during the day. It's not hard *IF* you can devote 100% attention. Since I'm hope I have an upper hand. Regardless, I don't think it matters what age they start - each kid is different.
